Residents reported seeing the posters at key locations in the Kaduna metropolis, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Ali Akilu Road, areas near the State Government House, and along the Kawo Bridge corridor leading to Zaria. The displays drew significant attention, with motorists and pedestrians slowing to observe them, causing brief traffic disruption near Kawo Bridge during the morning rush.
Background and Political Context
Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura, has an extensive political resume as a former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, two-term Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation. He contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in 2022, finishing second behind the eventual winner and current President, Bola Tinubu.
While Amaechi has not made any formal declaration regarding the 2027 race, the widespread appearance of these campaign-style posters has intensified political chatter and speculation about a renewed bid for the nation’s highest office.
