President Tinubu lauds “long-term ally”, Oyetola on 70th birthday

Nigeria President Bola Tinubu has felicitated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

Tinubu who described the former Osun State Governor as a “long-term ally” praised him for being a consistent progressive with a proven record of accomplishment, including commitment to fiscal discipline and excellence.

The President’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, 1st of October, 2024.

The statement reads in part:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, former Osun State governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, on his 70th birthday.

“President Tinubu applauds his long-term ally for being a consistent progressive with a proven record of accomplishment, including commitment to fiscal discipline and excellence.

“He recalls that during Oyetola’s tenure as governor of Osun State, Oyetola recorded significant achievements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

“President Tinubu also recognises the Oyetola administration’s contributions to impressive growth in the state’s internally generated revenue, prioritisation of workers’ and pensioners’ welfare, and efforts to develop the mining sector to attract investors.
