Nigeria President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Emeka Anyaoku, on the passing of his brother-in-law, Chief Adekunle Olaosebikan Kasunmu.
In a statement on Saturday, 15th of June, 2024, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu condoled with Kasunmu, Williams, and the Coker family over Chief Kasunmu’s death.
The statement reads:
“President Bola Tinubu extends his heartfelt condolences to Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, the Kasunmu, Williams, and Coker families over the passing of Chief Adekunle Olaosebikan Kasunmu.
“The late Chief Kasunmu is the brother of Chief (Mrs.) Olubunmi Anyaoku, the wife of Chief Anyaoku.
“The President extols Chief Kasunmu as a remarkable individual who made significant contributions to family, community, and society.
“President Tinubu fondly recalls that the deceased’s late mother, Chief (Mrs.) Elfreda Williams Kasunmu (a.k.a. Mama Loke), a successful career woman, was an intimate friend of his mother, Alhaja Abibatu Ashabi Mogaji.
“The President also commiserates with the widow of Chief Kasunmu, Mrs. Kemi Kasunmu and the entire family, and assures them of his support in this time of mourning.
