President Buhari Meets Ministers In Abuja To Resolve ASUU Crisis

The Nigeria President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), on Tuesday 19th of July, 2022 met with relevant ministers handling the lingering strike embarked upon by varsity teachers.

Minister present are the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; and the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.

The meeting was held to find a lasting Solution to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the ASUU union which has kept Nigerian students away from class since 14th of February, 2022.

President Buhari, has however directed the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu to resolve the impasse in the space of two weeks and bring back reports to him so that the students can go back to their respective classes.

The ASUU union has claimed that nothing has been done so far by the federal government as strike enters it five months. The union faulted the federal government over failure to meet demands.
