The presidency has dismissed as false a viral list of national honours circulating on social media, which includes the name of activist Aisha Yesufu and others.
Presidential aide, Temitope Ajayi, described the list as fake news and urged the public to disregard it.
He clarified that no new list of honourees has been released apart from the one read by President Bola Tinubu during his address to the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Ajayi made the clarification in a terse statement he shared via his X handle.
The statement reads:
“The story on a viral list of national honours featuring the name of Aisha Yesufu and others credited to the Leadership newspaper is fake news. “
“It should be ignored. The presidency has not issued any fresh honours list with names different from the ones in President Tinubu’s address to the joint sitting of the National Assembly yesterday.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
