Nigeria’s Super Falcons have returned home from Morocco after securing their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
The team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja aboard a chartered flight.
The team was welcomed with excitement and cheers from fans and top government officials who had gathered at the airport for hours to receive the continental champions.
Among those present were the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; and Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
In celebration of their victory, the Super Falcons will stage an open-top bus parade through the streets of Abuja before proceeding to the Presidential Villa, where they will be hosted by President Bola Tinubu.
