Pres. Tinubu mourns with Senator Smart Adeyemi over mother’s dèath

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Senator Smart Adeyemi over passing of his mother, Princess Victoria Oyeyemi Adeyemi (née Ibilola).

In a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday, the President praised the late matriarch as a respected community leader known for her kindness, humility, and peaceful nature—qualities that earned her the admiration of all who knew her.

Tinubu acknowledged the lasting influence of Mama Adeyemi’s life, particularly in the Iyara community of Kogi State and in Niger State, where she spent 45 years, raised her six children, and formed deep ties before relocating to Abuja.

The statement reads:

“President Bola Tinubu extends his heartfelt condolences to Senator Smart Adeyemi on the passing of his beloved mother, Princess Victoria Oyeyemi Adeyemi (née Ibilola).

“President Tinubu pays tribute to the late matriarch and community leader, fondly remembered for her benevolence, humility, and peaceful disposition, which endeared her to all who came in contact with her.

“The President acknowledges the enduring impact of her legacy, especially in the Iyara community of Kogi State and among her numerous associates in Niger State, where she lived for 45 years and raised her six children, before relocating to Abuja.

“The President trusts that the Adeyemi family and all who mourn Mama Victoria Oyeyemi Adeyemi will find solace in her exemplary life of service and strength of character.
