President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday received the Super Falcons and their technical crew at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in celebration of their triumph at the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
At the special reception, the President conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the 24 players and their 11-man technical team, acknowledging their role in “bringing glory to Nigeria and inspiring a generation.”
As part of the recognition, Tinubu also approved the allocation of a three-bedroom apartment for each player and crew member at the Renewed Hope Estate, an initiative under his administration to deliver affordable and decent housing for Nigerians.
“In addition, there is a cash award of the naira equivalence of $100,000 each to the 24 players and the equivalence of $50,000 to the 11 man technical team.”
