Portable Regains Freedom from Ilorin Prison as Saheed Osupa Withdraws Legal Case

The management of Fuji star King Saheed Osupa has announced the formal withdrawal of legal action previously filed against singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.

The decision was made under Osupa’s directive and communicated to the public through an official statement.

According to the management, the legal case stemmed from what Osupa’s team considered serious breaches of intellectual property rights, def@mation, and repeated acts of public misconduct.

They clarified that the legal action was not personally motivated but intended to set a standard of accountability and promote responsible behavior, particularly among younger artists.

However, the decision to withdraw the case came after several respected Nigerians—such as Alhaji Ahmad Lawal (CEO of Lahmad Concepts), Saheed Ibile (CEO of Harmony Holdings Ltd), Alhaji Fatai Lajero (on behalf of the Olufimo Royal Parliament), and Alhaji Waheed Ogunsesan (President of the Olufimo Fans Club)—appealed for leniency. Osupa, moved by Portable’s struggles to meet bail conditions, agreed to drop the charges out of compassion.

The management emphasized that the withdrawal is rooted in a desire to offer Portable a chance at personal growth and transformation. Osupa believes in upholding accountability, but also values mercy as a core leadership principle.

As part of the agreement, Portable is required to:

“Publicly retract his statement suggesting Osupa should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
• Admit that the claim made by his lawyer, Chief Barrister Isaac Adebayo—that he begged Osupa for forgiveness while holding his leg—was false, as Osupa never saw Portable in person.
• Sign an undertaking to refrain from further acts of cyberb¥llying, def@mation, or character att@cks.
