The Kano State Police Command has revealed that it would not participate in the forthcoming local government elections in the State following a court order which restricts it.
The Kano Local Government election is scheduled for Saturday, 26th of October, 2024.
In a video seen online, on Friday, 25th of October 2024, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Abdullahi Haruna disclosed that the command is willing to fully comply with the court’s directives.
He said:
“You are very much aware of the court order which was received by the Police Command here in Kano. Item nine of the order provided that the Police should not participate in the coming local government election in the state. The Police in Kano are not participating in the election.
“However, it’s our responsibility to ensure no breakdown of law and order in the state and we’re always alive to our responsibilities.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
