The Nigeria Police Force has summoned Tammy Wenike Danagogo, a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government and a close ally of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, for questioning over an alleged assassination plot. The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) issued an official invitation for him to appear on Thursday, January 15, at its Abuja facility as part of an ongoing investigation.
The probe is linked to a leaked phone conversation allegedly involving Danagogo, which reportedly discussed plans against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike a long-time political rival. This development follows the reported arrest of Port Harcourt-based doctor and pastor, Dr. Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, founder of Life Forte Chapel Church, who has allegedly been in IRT custody for about two weeks over the same matter.
Security sources describe the intercepted call as a serious national security concern, prompting swift action.
According to reports, the conversation allegedly involved plans with foreign nationals and funding arrangements to target the minister. The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed a suspect is in custody but has not released further details, stating that detectives are continuing their investigation to identify any other individuals involved.
