Police Nabs Two Suspects For Rape In Adamawa State

The Adamawa State Police operatives have nabbed two suspects, of 35-year-old Wilson Sunday and another 22-year-old Raphael Peter, for rape in the State.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje made this known in a press release signed as the Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, and shared on the commands Twitter handle on Thursday

The statement in part disclosed that

“Adamawa State Police Command, on 4/06/2023, apprehended a 35 years old habitual Rapist for raping Five (5) Minors between the ages of 8 -14 in Bachure, Yola North Local Government Area.

“The suspect, Wilson Sunday, a resident of Damilu in Yola North, allegedly committed the crime from January 2023 until date. He disguised himself and lured the victims into an uncompleted building away from the eyes of the public, took advantage of them while they were on their way to or returning from school, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

“The incident was reported to the Divisional Police HQtrs, Kofare, by the parents of the victims, having observed the unrepentant attitude of the suspect. The preliminary investigation so far reveals that the suspect is a father of two and is now leaving alone after separating from his wife.

“Investigation further reveals that the accused was once convicted for a similar offence.”

The command further said that “Similarly, another 22 years Raphael Peter, a resident of Bulabuli, Michika Local Government, was arrested by the Command operatives attached to Divisional Police Headquarters, Mubi North, for raping an 18-year-old Student.”
