Three suspected bandits who were supplying weapons and ammunition to Ali Kachalla, a wanted terrorist, and other bandits in the states of Niger, Zamfara, and Katsina have been detained by the Taraba State Police command.
Residents of Taraba state’s Gassol, Jalingo, Yorro, and Takum local government districts have reportedly been terrorized by the suspects, Ibrahim Mohammed, Rabiu Abdullahi, and Umar Usman Wara, according to the police.
As he paraded the three together with 25 other suspected offenders, the state’s commissioner of police, CP David Iloyanomon, stated that the trio’s apprehension was the result of reliable information working with the FID-STS.
According to him: “the operatives of FID-STS, in conjunction with Taraba State Command, while acting on credible intelligence, arrested three notorious bandits, namely; Ibrahim Mohammed, 50 years old, of Shinkafi Local Government of Zamfara State; Rabiu Abdullahi, 40 years old, of Sabon-Layi, Jalingo Town; and Umar Usman Wara.
“The culprits are responsible for terrorizing Gassol, Jalingo, Yorro, and Takum. They also confessed to have supplied over fifty (50) AK-47/AK-49 rifles and over 3000 live ammunition to a most wanted terrorist, Ali Kachalla, and other Bandit Camps in Niger, Zamfara, Katsina, and Taraba states.
