The Enugu State Police Command revealed it has arrested two suspects identified as Chiegeonu Eze aged 22 years and partner Obinna Ezeugwu aged 23, who allegedly specialised in stealing water tanks in the Orba community of Udenu Local Government Area in Enugu state.
The Identified culprits who stole the tanks from building construction sites in the community, were nabbed by police on 23rd of April 2023, while attempting to steal two tanks from a site on the said date.
The two tanks and seven others were recovered from the culprits, while their confessional statements led to the further recovery of 17 others from one of their receivers of the stolen tanks, who is at large.
DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who is the police command spokesmen made this known in a statement signed by the command, and also shared on their Twitter handle on Monday.
The statement partly read,
“Owners of the tanks have been identifying them, while upon conclusion of the investigation, the suspects were arraigned in court and accordingly remanded to Nsukka Custodial Centre for further hearing.”
