The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has criticised Peter Obi for questioning the ongoing local government elections in Rivers State.
Wike while defending the local government elections mentioned that Obi lacks the moral ground to comment on it.
Wike said,
“He [Peter Obi] conducted local government elections two months before he was leaving office. Does he have what it takes to comment about the conduct of an election that was properly done and backed up by law?
”When somebody has done well, say the person has done well. If I have my way, I’ll recommend the chairman and members. The President should take them to the Federal level, because for the first time in our history, no gunshots, no carrying of ballot boxes, no kidnapping of returning officers and nobody wants to come out and commend them.
”You’re only saying it’s illegal. It is illegal to you. The court has not pronounced it illegal.”
