Peter Obi attends Dangote refinery Inauguration in Lagos (Video)

  • Former Governor Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

  • The event was graced by President Muhammadu Buhari, leaders from neighboring countries, all 36 State Governors, and other notable personalities.

  • The Dangote Refinery, with a daily processing capacity of 650,000 barrels, aims to meet Nigeria’s refined product demands and create job opportunities.

Former Governor Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, joined a host of dignitaries at the inauguration ceremony of the highly anticipated Dangote Refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, extended an invitation to Peter Obi and other distinguished guests.

The event witnessed the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari, along with leaders from Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Niger, and Chad, who gathered to inaugurate the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals.

Notably, all 36 State Governors of the Federation, Governors-elect, Ministers, Senators, global oil traders, top international bankers, and captains of industries from within and outside Nigeria were also in attendance.

Spanning an expansive area of 2,635 hectares within the Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, the Dangote petroleum refinery boasts an impressive processing capacity of 650,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).

This ambitious project is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 100,000 individuals. Moreover, the refinery aims to fulfill 100 percent of Nigeria’s refined product requirements, including gasoline (53 million liters per day), diesel (34 million liters per day), kerosene (10 million liters per day), and aviation jet fuel (2 million liters per day). It is anticipated to have surplus quantities of each product for exportation.

Among the distinguished guests present at the inauguration was Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Additionally, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor-elect of Kano State, also graced the occasion, emphasizing the significance of Africa’s largest refinery.
