A commercial bus on Lagos State’s Third Mainland Bridge is said to have thrown two passengers into the lagoon, where they perished.
It was learned that the other passengers suffered injuries from the tragic event that varied in severity.
The collision happened on Eid-el-Fitri, the day Muslims celebrated the conclusion of Ramadan.
Reports says when the passengers jumped from the 20-seater bus with the license plate FKJ 872 YA, the driver was attempting to prevent the vehicle from falling into the lagoon.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the Southwest Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the sad incident .
He claimed that search and rescue efforts had been launched by a rescue squad. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
