Oyo Police bust human traffïcking ring in Ibadan, rescue 84 victims

The Oyo Police Command has dismantled a human trafficking syndicate operating in Ibadan, rescuing 84 individuals, including a child from captivity.

The victims were freed during a coordinated raid on a residential property in the Orogun area of the city where they had reportedly been confined for an unspecified period.

Preliminary findings suggest that the victims, believed to be citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo were lured to Nigeria with promises of lucrative job opportunities.

Investigations further revealed that the traffickers extorted significant amounts of money, allegedly in U.S. dollars, from the victims’ families as part of the criminal operation.

The rescued individuals are currently being sheltered at the Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, as authorities continue their investigation to uncover the full scope of the network and bring the perpetrators to justice. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
