The Oyo State Government has unveiled a new traffic enforcement measure – One-Way Tyre Spikes – aimed at curbing wrong-way driving.
A viral video circulating on social media shows the spikes in action, puncturing the tyres of vehicles attempting to drive against the flow of traffic.
This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to enforce road regulations more strictly and enhance road safety.
Sharing the video via X on Tuesday, 4th of March 2025, #OyoAffairs wrote:
“To prevent motorists from driving the wrong way on one-way roads, the Oyo State Government has started installing ‘One-Way Tyre Spikes.’ This one here is located along Idi-Ape.”
