A passenger died and more than 20 were injured when a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore hit severe turbulence on Tuesday. Flight SQ321, with 211 passengers and 18 crew, was diverted to Bangkok.
The turbulence caused the Boeing 777-300ER to drop 6,000 feet in minutes.
Singapore Airlines confirmed the fatality and injuries, offering condolences to the deceased’s family and assistance to all onboard.
Tracking data showed the plane suddenly descended from 37,000 to 31,000 feet over three minutes before landing in Bangkok where emergency crews were waiting to help the injured passengers.
