The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ogun State Wing, has publicly commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for authorizing a landmark salary enhancement for primary school educators in the state.
In a joint statement, the union celebrated the governor’s approval to place degree-holding primary school teachers on Grade Level 17 and to implement a new consolidated salary structure for Head Teachers General. The NUT described the decision as a “historic milestone” that restores professional dignity and significantly boosts teacher morale.
More than 14,000 primary school teachers across Ogun State are set to benefit directly from this upgrade. The union stated that the policy reflects the administration’s deep commitment to education and will serve to motivate educators, attract and retain qualified professionals, and improve overall learning outcomes in public schools.
The NUT expressed its appreciation to Governor Abiodun and other stakeholders, pledging the union’s ongoing support for initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the state’s education sector.
