The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested four foreign nationals from Cameroon and Chad for illegal entry into the state.
The suspects, Dorooumouna Brosia (23, Cameroonian), Hassan Bukhari (Cameroonian), Saleh Sakhair (27, Chadian), and Mahamat Moudaina (23, Chadian)—were apprehended at 8:00 AM on Thursday while travelling to Lafenwa, Abeokuta.
According to a statement released by Soji Ganzallo, the Corps Commander, through the Public Relations Officer, Moruf Yusuf, the arrest was based on intelligence reports received by operatives.
The suspects were already en route to their destination when security personnel intercepted their taxi and took them into custody without resistance.
During interrogation, the two Cameroonian nationals revealed they had been residing in Ibadan for over four months, awaiting the arrival of their Chadian counterparts.
Further investigation revealed that a Chadian national, Hassan Seid, who lives and works in Lafenwa, Ogun State, had invited and facilitated their movement into the country. The suspects claimed they travelled to Ogun State to work and improve their English language skills while conducting business.
Commander Ganzallo emphasised the potential security risks posed by undocumented migrants, warning that illegal entry into the state could lead to criminal activities and threats to public safety.
The arrested individuals have since been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command, for further investigation and possible deportation. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
