The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of a suspect involved in illegal oil bunkering, following the interception of a large boat carrying illegally acquired crude oil.
According to a terse statement on the Corps X handle on Wednesday, 9th of April 2025, the operation led to the confiscation and destruction of the boat, along with a large pour-put reservoir filled with an unquantifiable volume of stolen crude oil.
The statement reads:
