NSCDC arrests 17 suspects linked to renewed attâcks on Niger Delta oil installations

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have apprehended 17 suspects connected to a recent surge in attacks on critical oil and gas infrastructure in the Niger Delta region.

The arrests were made by the elite Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’S SIS) following a meticulously planned, intelligence-driven operation.

The detained suspects were accused of orchestrating assaults on NSCDC personnel and the Tantita Security Service base, an incident which tragically led to the killing of Assistant Superintendent Umar Aliyu.

A terse statement on the Corps’ official X handle on Monday, 18th of March 2025 reads:
