The Nigeria Police force in Jigawa state have apprehended more than 150 people in a sweeping crackdown on violent crime and drug trafficking in Jigawa State.
The Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, announced this at his first briefing in Dutse, saying the arrests, ranging from suspected kidnappers and armed robbers to drug dealers and cattle rustlers.
According to the report, one of the suspects, Adamu Musa, 47-year-old, was described by police as a “notorious kidnap kingpin.”
He is accused of abducting four people in neighboring Kano State and has collected more than eight million naira in ransom before he was apprehended and charged in court.
