Some actors, family and friends of late veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, on Wednesday, 26th of June, 2024, gathered to pay their last respects.
A night of Tribute was held for Mr Ibu, at the Base Centre Event in Enugu state as some of his colleagues, Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum were seen in attendance.
A user on X identified as ChuksEricE, wrote: “Ongoing candle the night procession of the late legendary Nollywood actor Mr. John Okafor (Mr Ibu) which is taking place at the Base Event Centre in Enugu State.”
Meanwhile, via his Instagram handle #realvictorosuagwu on Wednesday, Osuagwu wrote: “Nite of Tributes, For Mr. IBU. Farewell Brother.”
In October 2023, Ibu was reported ill and required financial assistance, however in November 2023, his family confirmed that one of his legs had been amputated to keep him alive.
