Nigerian Top government officials, governors, ministers, and civil society leaders gathered at Arewa House in Kaduna today for a high-level forum titled “Government–Citizen Engagement: Assessing Electoral Promises.”
The event, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, aims to evaluate the delivery of President Bola Tinubu’s electoral promises to Northern Nigeria.
The two-day interactive session attracted key figures from the federal and state governments, including Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, and several senators and traditional leaders.
Governor Uba Sani stated that it would be nearly impossible for any Nigerian governor to oppose President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing the president’s unprecedented support to state governments.
Discussions during the forum centered on infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, and social investment—areas where the North was promised significant improvements.
Speakers stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and continued dialogue between the government and citizens.
The foundation’s Executive Director, Engineer Abubakar Gambo Umar, said the forum would help track progress and shape future policy interventions for the region. Recommendations from the meeting are expected to be submitted to the Presidency.
