NNPC Limited has announced a major achievement in the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline project, confirming the successful crossing of the River Niger, which brings the long-awaited project closer to its target completion in the fourth quarter of 2025. Speaking during the 24th NOG Energy Week in Abuja, Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, attributed the progress to innovative contract reengineering and robust industry collaboration.
Ojulari also revealed that, for the first time in years, Nigeria achieved 100% availability across its major crude oil pipelines throughout June 2025, made possible by coordinated security interventions championed by NNPC Ltd.
This success, he said, has significantly boosted crude oil production and restored investor confidence in the sector.
Highlighting the company’s consistent efforts in meeting cash-call obligations to joint venture partners, Ojulari noted that the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021) has positioned NNPC Ltd. to lead the industry in financing critical energy projects.
He further urged that the NOG Energy Week should evolve from simply being a talk shop to becoming a platform where performance is celebrated and investment deals are concluded, all while pushing Nigeria toward a cleaner, more accessible, and sustainable energy future. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
