Nigerians lack of trust in their leaders, a major issue – Ex Lagos House of Assembly speaker, Ikuforiji says

Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has disclosed that Nigerians lack trust in their leaders, despite that they were being chosen among them.

He called for a change in the orientation and value system of Nigerians.

He said this during an interview with Arise News on Friday, 28th of June, 2024.

He said:

“Nigerians for any reason don’t even have any trust, and believe in their leaders. But we all forget that the leaders are not imported from the moon, they are from amongst us.

“We all need to have a change of heart. Our orientation and value system need to be looked at critically.

“It is so sad that the general populace will elect people into office and they also expect that everyone they elect into office go there only to go and steal from the public.

“Why do we continue to elect if we believe there is nothing any of them will do other than to steal?
