Taiwo Awoniyi, the Nigeria international was overjoyed that the first goal coming from him to his team, Nottingham Forest ensured the club’s first Premier League home win in 23 years.
The 25-year-old Awoniyi bundled in from close range in first-half stoppage time against West Ham United on Sunday, propelling his team to a 1-0 victory.
Awoniyi had spent six years at Liverpool’s team without making a single first-team appearance before joining Union Berlin in 2021 and then Forest in June for £17 million.
According to him “I’m really happy with the goal because it’s been a long road to get back to the Premier League,”
