Tragedy struck in Scarborough, Canada, as a 28-year-old Nigerian student, Ifeanyichukwu Oseke, lost his life after being stabbed during a fight. The incident took place on Sunday evening, June 25, at a mall located in the Eglinton Avenue area.
According to CBC, local authorities were alerted to the scene at approximately 7 p.m. Toronto police arrived to find Oseke, who had sustained severe stab wounds.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, emergency responders swiftly transported him to a nearby trauma centre. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Oseke was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect responsible for the fatal attack remains at large. Duty Insp. Jeff Bangild disclosed that preliminary information suggests a confrontation took place between two individuals outside the plaza, leading to the assailant using a weapon to stab Oseke.
The police described the suspect as a male with medium-length dark hair, last seen wearing a light-coloured tank top, pants, and shoes. He was observed fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured sedan, heading south on Brimley Road from Eglinton Avenue East.
