Soldiers deployed under Operation Fansan Yamma in Katsina and Zamfara have raised serious concerns over p@@r living conditions, including inedible food, unpaid allowances, and unsafe drinking water.
One soldier, speaking to the newsmen, described their meals as “p+isono¥s and disg¥sting,” lacking even basic meat. “Even Almajiri wouldn’t eat this happily,” he lamented.
He also noted that their drinking water comes from a borehole d+ng£rously close to toilets, raising contamination fears.
Despite their sacrifices in f+ghting bandits, the soldiers say they have endured these hardships for over two years and six months, forcing many to consider quitting. “We are risking our lives, yet we s¥ffer. P@@r feeding, no allowances paid on time,” he added.
Beyond these struggles, troops are also frustrated by the military’s failure to rotate them. Originally assigned a six-month deployment, many have now spent over two years at the frontlines without seeing their families. They are repeatedly told there are “no funds” for their redeployment.
