Oyo State-based skit maker and prankster, Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, has been granted bail by a Family Court sitting in Iyagangu. This decision comes after his appearance in court.
The court had initially ordered his remand in prison for allegedly sexualising a minor in a viral skit video, and the next adjourned date was scheduled for August 3, 2023. However, on Friday, he was released on bail pending further proceedings.
The court also ordered the remand of Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife Rofiat Ahmed, 29, who are the parents of the alleged minor involved in the case. The police arraigned Abdullahi Maruff Adisa in June, charging him and the parents of the victim with conspiracy, sexual abuse, and exploitation.
During the court proceedings, the Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Oluwakemi Arowosaye, presented the case and informed the court that Trinity Guy was arrested for sexually abusing and exploiting a 10-year-old girl in the Kuola neighborhood of Ibadan on December 17, 2022.
The alleged offense is in violation of Section 35 (1) and is punishable under Section 35 (2) of the Oyo State Child Rights Law 2006.
As the case progresses, further legal actions will be taken, and Trinity Guy’s release on bail allows him some freedom until the next court appearance. The matter remains under close scrutiny as authorities continue to investigate the allegations made against the skit maker and those involved in the case. (CONTINUE READING HERE)
