Nigerian Oil mogul Gabriel Ogbechie’s Rainoil unveils 10 new fuel stations

The expansion supports Rainoil’s “Road to 400” push to scale its nationwide fuel retail network and boost petroleum access in urban and underserved markets.

Rainoil Limited, an integrated oil and gas group led by Nigerian oil tycoon Gabriel Ogbechie, has unveiled 10 new fuel stations across Nigeria, deepening its footprint in the country’s competitive downstream sector.

The move brings Rainoil’s retail network to over 210 active service stations in 27 states, according to a company statement on Monday.

The expansion aligns with the company’s “Road to 400” campaign, a strategic drive to scale its nationwide fuel retail infrastructure and increase access to petroleum products in both urban and underserved areas.

“Each station represents a commitment to bringing quality energy closer to the people,” said Ifeanyichukwu Omezi, Rainoil’s Brand and Corporate Communications Manager. As demand for fuel continues to rise across Nigeria, the company’s steady growth under Ogbechie reflects its broader goal of supporting national energy needs while maintaining a strong local presence.

Delta State leads expansion push

Delta State recorded the highest number of new openings with four stations launched in Osubi, Ugbolu, Eboh Road, and Patani. Other new stations include locations in Yenagoa (Bayelsa), Makurdi (Benue), Ogbomosho (Oyo), and a key urban terminal in Maraba, Nasarawa State, located at the Sani Abacha Modern Bus Terminal along the busy Abuja–Keffi Expressway.

The newly commissioned Warri South station was launched in the presence of traditional leaders and local stakeholders, signaling Rainoil’s commitment to community engagement and local development.

Infrastructure, job creation, and energy access Rainoil said the rollout underscores its long-term investment in fuel infrastructure, job creation, and support for Nigeria’s energy supply chain.

The firm also highlighted the strategic positioning of the new outlets to enhance fuel availability in fast-growing transport corridors and peri-urban centers. “Our growth isn’t just numerical,” Omezi added. “It’s about national impact, energy security, and service delivery.”

Ogbechie’s vision driving industry leadership Gabriel Ogbechie, founder and Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited, has nearly 30 years’ experience in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Under his leadership, Rainoil has expanded its asset base significantly, operating over 210 retail stations and managing a fleet of more than 130 product tank trucks to ensure efficient delivery nationwide.

In 2021, Rainoil strengthened its portfolio with the $26.1 million acquisition of Eterna Plc, a prominent Nigerian lubricant and chemical manufacturer. The company further cemented its market presence by launching a mega filling station in Benin City in 2023 and commissioning four new stations in early 2025, alongside a gas plant in Osogbo aimed at promoting clean, efficient energy solutions.
