Nigerian lady dràgs her grandmother to court over unpaid debts of N95,000 she borrowed 5 months ago

A Nigerian grandmother has been dragged to court over failure to pay her granddaughter N95,000 she borrowed from her.

The video that caught Freshreporters Media attention was soon on the internet on 7th of June, 2024. The video which appeared in form of a movie happened to feature Ebuka of Big Brother Naija and some other casts.

The granddaughter had sue her grandmother over her money she borrowed to stock her store, but she refused to pay back few months she promised.

In an hilarious moment the Justice asked the grandmother if she actually had the intention of paying her back, she frankly said No because she stays with her, eat and drink for free.

“I Said I Will Pay Her Back But I Don’t Have The Intention To Pay Her Back. She Is My Child. Why Will I Pay Her?” – the grandmother said after she borrowed 5 months ago.

“She borrowed money from my hand. She has not paid me my money. Since January 10th. This is 5 months now. She said she will pay in June. I asked and she said she will not pay me that she is taking care of me and buying clothes for me,” she said.

In her grandmother’s defence she said: “the girl stays in her house for free, eats her food and she also buys clothes for her.

She is in my house eating, I am paying house rent. I told her I want to use the money in my shop. I collected N95,000 from her and said I will pay in June. I said I will pay her back but I don’t have the intention to pay her back. She is my child. Why will I pay her? If I say I will not pay her she will not give me. I will pay her if she cool down. I will pay you but not now. Since I took care of you from Primary to secondary school.”

After a long conversation, the judge however ordered that she pay her back even if it N40,000 due to the fact she lied of paying her back without intention. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
