Nigerian Army Eliminates Six Bandits In Zamfara And Katsina

Operation Hadarin Daji, the ongoing military operation aimed at combating banditry in Nigeria’s Northwest states, achieved significant success on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

The troops of Sector 1, Forward Operational Base, Faru, carried out a successful ambush against bandits at the Bagabuzu crossing point situated between the Maradun and Talatan Mafara axis in Zamfara State.

According to intelligence sources, the troops neutralized two bandits during the encounter and also managed to recover valuable weaponry.

Among the seized items were one GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) rifle, one AK 47 rifle, and a quantity of 7.62mm NATA ammunition.

In another separate encounter, troops of Sector 2, Team 9, Batsari, working under the same operation, engaged bandits in the Gobirawa Garin Ruji general area in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

During the confrontation, four bandits were eliminated, and their weapons were successfully recovered by the military forces.

Meanwhile, the troops of Sector 3, in Tureta, in collaboration with troops of Sector 1, Team 4, conducted clearance operations around the Tureta general area in Sokoto State.

The operation saw the troops clearing the Dantulu Hill general area and subsequently the bandits’ camp at Rafin Lalu forest. On the approach of the advancing troops, the bandits fled, leaving behind four motorcycles, which were later destroyed by the military personnel. (CONTINUE READING HERE)
