Troops of Nigerian Army has announced that the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support), based in Gombe State, will commence the second phase of its 2025 Range Classification Exercise from Thursday to Friday at the regiment’s Small Arms Range in Liji.
The routine biannual exercise is aimed at sharpening soldiers’ professional skills, improving weapon handling, and evaluating combat readiness.
Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for the regiment, Lieutenant Kingsley Ugwuoke, described the training as a vital aspect of operational preparedness, stressing that it enhances proficiency and ensures better results during operations.
He assured residents of Liji and surrounding communities that there was no cause for alarm, urging them not to panic over gunshots during the exercise.
Farmers, hunters, and other residents were strongly advised to avoid the shooting zone for safety. Ugwuoke added that the army remains committed to professionalism, operational effectiveness, and safeguarding civilians during training.
