Nigeria’s football journey at AFCON 2023 has been nothing short of extraordinary; following a string of impressive group stage and Round of 16 performances, they have earned a position in the quarterfinals.
Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria fought to a 1-1 draw in the first group stage, with each team receiving one point. But Nigeria swiftly recovered, defeating Ivory Coast 1-0 in their second group stage match to earn a total of 4 points.
Nigeria won the last group stage match 1-0 over Guinea Bissau to take second place at the group stage table.
Nigeria advanced to the Round of 16 where they played Cameroon. They won 2-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals with a commanding performance.
The eagerly awaited quarterfinal encounter between Nigeria and Angola will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
