President Bola Tinubu has received appreciation from former President Muhammadu Buhari for his performance since taking office, despite the economic hardship that Nigerians across are going through.
Buhari notes that Nigeria is “so complex” and that there isn’t much anyone can do to aid the country right now.
The economic crisis in the nation erupted when Buhari stepped down on May 29, 2023.
Tinubu called for the termination of the financing on the day of the inauguration, announcing that his administration would no longer subsidize gasoline since it benefited neighboring nations.
The Premium Motor Spirit’s price increased from N185 to more than N600 as a result of his policies.
However, speaking on Sunday when he received the comptroller-general and members of the management team of the Nigeria Customs Service in Daura, Katsina State, Buhari said governing Nigeria is a tough job for anyone.
He asked Nigerians to endure the economic hardship in the country and support the policies and programmes of the current administration.
“I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu has done very well,” Buhari said.
