Wahab Okoya, the 19-year-old son of billionaire industrialist Chief Rasaq Okoya, has stated that he believes Nigeria has made notable progress over the last three years.
In an interview with Cruise show, Wahab suggested that this improvement is more perceptible to those who travel frequently outside the country and return. “If you compare Nigeria of three years ago to Nigeria of today, we’re getting better,” he said. “I know it’s because you guys live in Nigeria, but for us that go to school and come back, like when I come back, the change is so visible.”
While acknowledging the persistent economic and social difficulties, Wahab argued that the government deserves more recognition for its efforts. “We are not giving our government credit because it’s hard, and they are really trying,” he added.
