The House of Representatives Committee on Aviation has raised serious concerns about the process surrounding the unveiling of Nigeria Air, the country’s new national carrier.
In a recent session, the committee scrutinized the unveiling and subsequent operations of Nigeria Air, ultimately faulting the procedure and passing a resolution calling for the suspension of its operations.
The committee members expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency and due process during the unveiling of Nigeria Air.
They highlighted several issues, including the absence of proper consultations with stakeholders, insufficient clarity on the financial arrangements, and a general lack of comprehensive planning. These concerns led the committee to conclude that the process did not meet the necessary standards required for such a significant undertaking.
Consequently, the committee unanimously passed a resolution requesting the federal government to immediately suspend the operations of Nigeria Air.
