The Chairman of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday in Abuja received 12 Nigerian miners rescued from the Central African Republic.
The miners were freed after weeks of captivity by armed groups operating in the region, following collaborative efforts between Nigerian authorities and international partners.
Dabiri-Erewa commended the swift intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and security agencies, describing the rescue as a testament to the government’s commitment to citizens’ safety abroad.
She urged Nigerians working in conflict-prone areas to exercise caution and keep in touch with relevant authorities, assuring that NiDCOM would continue to support their safe return and reintegration.
