Newcastle Ends Arsenal’s Unbeaten Record With a Narrow Victory (Video)

Arsenal’s ambitions of contending for the Premier League championship took a severe blow today, November 4, as they experienced their first loss of the season against Newcastle United.

Freshreporters News reports that before the Premier League clash at St. James Park, Arsenal was favored by bookmakers due to their unbeaten record in the current Premier League season.

Regrettably, coach Mikel Arteta and his team couldn’t shake off their recent Carabao Cup defeat, which cast a shadow on their Premier League campaign.

Recall that on November 1, Arsenal unexpectedly fell to West Ham United in the Carabao Cup, putting an end to their cup run.

However, this was not anticipated to have a ripple effect on their Premier League performance, and things looked that way until the second half following a goalless first half.

In the 64th minute, Arsenal’s defense faltered, allowing Anthony Gordon to score the sole goal that ultimately decided the match’s outcome.

Gordon neatly slotted the ball into an unguarded net after Joe Willock delivered a precise cross into Arsenal’s penalty area, while Joelinton kept Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, occupied, preventing him from stopping the ball.

Subsequently, the Video Assistant Referee conducted a four-minute review of the goal’s buildup and Gordon’s potential offside position.

The goal was ultimately confirmed.

This 1-0 victory places Arsenal in the third position on the league table after 11 games, amassing 24 points, trailing Manchester City by three points in the top spot and Tottenham Hotspur by two points, with the latter set to face Chelsea in their matchday 11 fixture on Monday.
