The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, has supported the reception of 109 Nigerian returnees repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic.
According to a statement on NEMA’s X handle on Friday, May 23, the returnees arrived aboard a chartered flight at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA).
The exercise was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with other partners involved in migrant reintegration and humanitarian assistance.
The returnees included 104 adult male, 1 male child, 1 adult female and 3 female children.
The statement reads:
“Reception of an Additional Batch of 109 Nigerian Returnees from Niamey, Niger Republic
“The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Office, supported the reception of another batch of 109 Nigerian returnees from Niamey, Niger Republic. The returnees arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) at 7:50 p.m. on May 21, 2025.
“The repatriation exercise was organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with key stakeholders involved in migrant support and reintegration efforts.
“Demographic Breakdown of the Returnees: Adult Males: 104, Male Children: 1, Adult Females: 1, Female Children: 3
“Upon arrival, the returnees were accommodated at Chilla Hotel, where proper profiling and documentation were conducted on May 22, 2025.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
