The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) through its Abuja Operations Office (AOO), has commenced the distribution of relief materials to victims of recent fire disasters in Lokoja, Ofu, and Ogorimagongo Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
The intervention follows the federal approval for relief support to affected communities, with a NEMA team deployed to the state to oversee the coordination and distribution of the items.
During the distribution exercise, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), Alhaji Muktar Atima, lauded NEMA for its swift response.
He praised the collaboration between the federal and state emergency agencies, describing it as a vital step toward strengthening disaster management across Kogi State.
