NEMA DG visits Niger flööded communities

Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zubaida Abubakar led a team of officials on a visit to the flood-ravaged communities of Anguwan Hausawa and Fillin Maza in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State on Friday.

The visit followed a devastating flood on Wednesday night that submerged over 50 homes, trapping residents inside.

NEMA reported that the death toll had climbed to 111 by Friday, up from 25 the previous day, while an estimated 5,000 people have been displaced by the disaster.
