The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Gombe Operations Office, has provided relief materials to households affected by recent windstorm and fire incidents in Itas Gadau Federal Constituency, Bauchi State.
The intervention, carried out on June 12, 2025, aligns with NEMA’s mandate to offer timely humanitarian assistance to communities impacted by disasters across the country.
Speaking on behalf of the Head of Operations, Ummuna Ahmed, NEMA Technical Officer Abubakar Nafi’u expressed sympathy with the victims and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to disaster response.
He commended the resilience of the affected communities and emphasised the importance of early warning systems, disaster preparedness, and community-based risk reduction strategies.
Local government officials, traditional leaders, and a representative of the constituency’s lawmaker were present during the distribution.
