Caroline Anze-Bishop, treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association, has accused NBA President, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, of sidelining her in the affairs of the association.
Anze-Bishop stated this on Thursday, at the Annual General Meeting of the NBA that took place in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
While speaking during the meeting, Bishop, rejected the financial statement presented by Maiyaku, saying she has too much respect for the Bar to append her signature on unknown documents.
She said in part,
“That statement and the treasurer’s report put together, was arrived at without my involvement, without consultations of my office and I am not going to disrespect you by standing here and give a report that did not originate from me, I am sorry.
“I respect you too much to do that. Section 9 subsection 5 G provides that the treasurer shall cause to be prepared or shall prepare all the financial statements to be presented.
