Four people are being arrested by the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Lugard on suspicion of stealing metallurgical coal from the Ajaokuta Steel Company in Kogi State.
The Commander of NNS Luguard, Moses Epelle, parading the suspects in Lokoja, informed the media that the suspects had been taken into custody on April 4, 2024, following a report that some unidentified individuals were pilfering metallurgical coal close to the firm dock.
“The four suspects gained access to the jetty through the water way on a wooden boat which was loaded with about 400 bags of the materials. They wanted to convey this materials to an unidentified destination.
“The gallant effort of officers of the Nigeria Navy on the water way in conjunction with the local vigilantes led to the arrest of the four suspects namely Abdulrazak Danjuma, Idris Abdullahi, Suleiman Ibrahim and Musa Muhammed,” he stated.
Epelle directed the Ajaokuta Steel Company’s management to strengthen the complex’s security architecture as the Nigerian Navy will not stop trying to stop criminal activity along Kogi State’s waterways.
Epelle claims that the four accused would be turned over to the police so they may face charges. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
