The Nasarawa State government has initiated the distribution of relief items to help ease the impact of the fuel subsidy removal by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
During a ceremony in Lafia on Tuesday, Governor Abdullahi Sule stated that the residents of the state had been eagerly awaiting the relief promised by the president.
He expressed his satisfaction that the relief items for the state were now ready for distribution.
Governor Sule explained that out of the N5 billion pledged by the federal government, the state government had received only N2 billion so far.
Additionally, they had received an extra 3,000 bags of rice.
To ensure a well-organized distribution, the state government plans to reach all 3,000 polling units across the 13 local government areas of the state. They will distribute bags of rice and maize to the residents.
During the official flag-off event, various items were distributed to residents.
